Wow this is a big one, coworker Lori Addis, with lori addis design in collaboration with Exhibit Resources, Inc., was awarded the 2009 National Silver Medal ADDY Award for designing the Burt’s Bees mobile retail environment! With over 60,000 entries the ADDY Awards is the self proclaimed “world’s largest advertising competition” and probably the toughest too. The retail environment featured an on-site recycling program and utilized reclaimed woods from local North Carolina barns. Creative think-tank, Holiday Matinee is seriously making good things happen here at theHIVE. They just launched a brand new web store that focuses on giving exposure to great artists and providing socially conscious design with an affordable price-tag. And just when you thought they couldn’t make it any better, HM’s Artist Series line of shirts give 100% of the proceeds to Plant-it 2020, a non-profit that will “plant, maintain and protect” 20 trees for every item purchased. UPDATE:
The first meeting of the San Diego Tech Founders last night at theHive was a huge success. Approximately 25 founders (and future founders) of San Diego-based technology companies participated in presentations and company pitches.
Steve Bjorg presented the “No BS Entrepreneur’s Guide to Getting Started.” Brant Cooper presented on the topic of customer development practices for start-ups. Adam Harris presented on the topic of financial modeling for start-ups. Mike Thompson, Ron Hodson and Brant Cooper each pitched their company or new project ideas.

One of our newest tenants, LandMarK events, is hosting, ‘Who Meets Who’ an awesome new networking group tomorrow night at Suite & Tender on 5th and Broadway.
