That mid-day pick-me-up is now quite convenient. The latest arrival, along with this scorching August heat, is this vending machine, soon be to equipped with our favorite go-to treats selected from theHIVE. Thought we’d give the water cooler a super cool neighbor.
We are really excited to have Brian Jouan (aka Static Joe) coworking with us at theHIVE. He’s doing big things and tells us to keep an eye out for more to come. He’s a master when it comes to motion graphics and design and since moving to theHive he has produced work for Closing.com (which aired nationally), TBS’s “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne,” and San Diego’s Fashion Careers College. Time to get artsy. The Beyond the Border Contemporary Art Fair chose theONE as their exclusive concierge for their big event September 2-4. Artists from around the world will feature exhibits at the Grand Del Mar Resort. theONE is going to make sure the art pieces arrive safely in San Diego as well as arrange installations worldwide. If you think you might want a private viewing of a particular piece, or maybe take a spin in a Maserati, they can make that happen too.

All of us at theHIVE are excited because Holiday Matinee is celebrating 10 years of awesome by asking you to be awesome too! They have 10 sweet prizes ready to be given to 10 creative entries. Prizes include TOMS Shoes, W Hotel, Pat & Oscar’s, Furni Creations, Feelgoodz, No Star Clothing, T-Post, Field Notes, M-Theory Records, EA Sports and a pair of tickets to Def Leppard & Poison! Whoa! On August 15th, theHIVE is going to be on fire! We’re hosting the first ever Ignite event in San Diego and we’re stoked! Ignite events bring together the “eclectic interests of geeks, technologists and DIY’ers.” We’re curious as to how the first San Diego Ignite event will unfold… anyone can present a topic to share. Presenters are challenged to give a demonstration in under 5minutes, accompanied by no more than 20 slides which rotate every 15 seconds. Wham-Bam Thank you ma’am! Doors will open at 7pm, followed by presentations at 8, which will wrap up at 11. More info here.
PreDevCamp is finally here and its going to be rad! On Saturday, mobile developers, web developers, UI designers, and testers, will all gather and be working together to develop awesome innovative applications for the Palm Pre and there’s no better space to get creative in than theHIVE! We are most excited to host PreDevCamp and can’t wait to see what they come up with.
