Listen up! Friday we had a surprise celebrity visit…..drumroll please…..R. Lee Emery!  Full Metal Jacket, Saving Silverman, Toy Story 1 & 2, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, etc.) He might play the abrasive, in-your-face drill sargeant, but we’ll have you know, he’s just the opposite off-screen.  In fact, he popped in to check up on our Toys for Tots donation bin (thanks Evan Morgan!) and was glad to take a few pictures with some HIVEmates. Thanks for stopping in Lee-and thanks to those who brought in toys-keep ‘em coming!

Toys for Tots!

Need to check off your good deed of the year from your resolution list? Feel good about yourself by gifting a toy to a child in need this holiday. Urban Collective has collaborated with theHIVE in setting up a Toys For Tots drop-off station. Take time off your routine to do something good for your community and stop by theHIVE, Monday through Friday from 9-5. We are located at 770 11th Ave, San Diego, between F and G ST. Happy Holidays!

Thread Show- HIVE Style

We already know theHIVE has a high concentration of talent. A few of our own are going to show it off this weekend at Thread Show San Diego on the Wonderbread Factory. LouLou Bijoux, HomeEc and Holiday Matinee will be present, exhibiting their products as three of San Diego’s top 100 independent designers. The show runs 11-4 Saturday and Sunday, fusing fashion, environment and a mix of all things hip from wine-tasting to art displays. Swing by and see what all the fuss is about.
