Ablaze, with stimuli Hivers will unite to Ignite (round 2), re-light and keep this body of bees buzzing and burning.  NewGrass, one of the sponsors of Ignite, is merging nature with city, mind with body. 16 mind-dazzling talks are scheduled, with an infinite range in subject. Seriously. We’re talking, arts, waffles (yumm), programming, chairs, nudity, consciousness, the apocalypse (yes, it is coming) and even some improv/karaoke! Jeans 4 Justice in Motion

Tomorrow, here at theHIVE, Jeans 4 Justice will collaborate, brainstorm and educate for their upcoming Season of Justice in Motion. Justice in Motion offers a program to prepare your body, mind, and soul for a half-marathon. All proceeds benefit sexual assault prevention and education.

This Wednesday, the Station Tavern will be abuzz with theHIVE’s Holiday Matinee, LouLou Bijoux and our artsy friends at Sezio ’cause Anybody Can Be Cool, But Awesome Takes Practice. Select creative-types from San Diego will be hanging out and will have some of their awesome merch so you can see what they’re about. We love when HIVERs get together and make rad things happen.

Hanging with Sezio

Our good friends at Sezio have adorned our walls with some awesome handiwork from local San Diego artists. Over the past two years, they’ve handpicked artists and featured them on their site. In celebration of their 2nd birthday, they gave each one a block of birch wood and the result is an installation here at theHIVE. They’re hosting a viewing tomorrow from 6-9  supporting both Sezio and the artists. If you’re in the East Village area, drop by to check out the collection.

Long time friends of theHIVE, Sezio are turning two this week. We’ve seen these guys grow up and establish themselves around San Diego promoting art and music. No birthday would be complete without a party, so this weekend they’ve orchestrated a block party starting at Subtext Gallery, then on to the Casbah. Come out and help celebrate!

HM’s Film Debut

Hiver Holiday Matinee‘s continuing role in the Ford Fiesta Movement has prompted the production of a short film: This is Charlotte King, inspired by the latest model. The team brought together film pros from around  Southern California to help tell the story, which will be featured at the Fashion Valley Theater tonight. If you aren’t fortunate enough to make it, the film will be streaming on HM’s site soon after.
