We’re stoked to announce the newest group to our 241 location: 944 Magazine. If you’ve been living under a rock, it is one of the most popular publications in Southern California and here are a few perks of having them in the building:
Lorena Gaxiola, head of Kuatro Design in our 241 building had the chance to tell San Diego about her prefs in this month’s issue of 944 Magazine. Titled the Picks Issue, it featured notable names from the finest city and what they dig. Judging by Lorena’s recent expansion of her design expertise to Asia and Australia, we think she’s more than qualified to represent. Congrats to Kuatro on the feature and going global.
944 Magazine’s Editor’s Pick edition yielded a shout out to theHIVE’s socialite site: TheMixster.com. Listed as the new “it” website, we have to agree. They’re up on the best finds in San Diego for something a little out of the ordinary. We love having our very own insider at the HIVE. Congratulations to Taylor and the crew!
theHIVE’s squad of music hunters, BandsInTown.com were featured in yesterday’s LA Times. Pop and Hiss-the Times’ music blog vented about the frustration in linking shows of different sizes,genres and their ticket providers. BandsInTown lumps it all together-big headliners, indie shows, acts from abroad, shows for your grandma and your teeny bopper cousin-you get the point. Marketplace Money, the nation’s most popular business radio show hosted a very innovative Hiver on Friday: Doug Gates of MoxyVote. He let host Steve Chiotakis in on how MoxyVote benefits shareholders and how they’re gearing up to go big. Congratulations on the broadcast, Doug!

Just when you thought you knew San Diego, theHIVE’s newest collective, So Diego Tours has something new to offer up. They’ve got this place down-from Coronado all the way to Big Bear covering everything from bar crawls, good eats and wine tasting tours for all the winos in the HAUS. The list goes on on and on. Welcome- we look forward to a new spin on the city.

Despite working out of two HIVE locations, Lauge Mathiasen of AxMentor and Charles Dessell of cdCubed managed to get together at our 241 location to catch up. With our second location just down the street, we’ve got twice the brains and inspiration, not to mention a great home base for Padres games.
After two years in the making, Freakatars, an online creative site for kids is off the ground. HIVE collective and freelance flash developer, Kyle Tyacke created a place for children to create wacky creatures, trade virtual currency (freakies) and even buy things like skateboards and t-shirts with their masterpiece printed right on it. Creativity and fiscal responsibility-Awesome.
WHAT: Fellow hiver Mel Gordon has organized the first inaugural #inluenceSD – celebrating champions in new media. Come out support the amazing people and organizations taking San Diego to the next level.
