SDMTC – The Future is Now

September 17th, 2010 | HIVEr | No Comments »

A member of the HIVE’s creative team, Roland Lightenberg, made his vision into a reality, yesterday at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego, California. Hivers, Home-Ec, TheMixster, BandsinTown, Locurious, and Eila Brilliant, came together for San Diego’s first ever Music and Technology Conference. SDMTC united the masterminds of the music and technology world, such as Naut Human, Jay Warsinske, Peter Otto, Matt Moldover, Lee Martin, Barry Threw, Peter Nyboer, Shelly Hartman, Freddie Allen, and Ramsey Grice (and these are only a few to name!), to talk about the future of the music and technology world. What I learned? Sound is now, 3d,  Moldover’s eclectic style is pure creative genius, and San Diego is getting ready to warp into a new, mind-dazzling and beautiful galaxy with the help of all these clear and positive creatives. Join in for peace and a night of absolute fun tonight, at 207, at Hard Rock Hotel, San Diego, CA. Peace and Love.

Today Is Dave Brown Day!

August 24th, 2010 | HIVEr | No Comments »

This Friday, the notorious Dave Brown will be leaving theHIVE, as well as the surrounding city of San Diego. 12 years ago, the man dove head first into San Diego’s creative culture bringing his observantly poised and tactful imagination to the scene. He’s managed Album Leaf, ran Better Looking Records, ownded an art gallery and provided creative inspiration through Holiday Matinee. Seriously though, what more can he do for the art world of San Diego? The dude’s pretty much a legacy. A standing ovation is greatly needed for virtuoso Dave Brown. Let’s cheers to him tonight, and rave in his presence one last time, tonight at 8pm, on the back patio of Starlite.
