Urban Art Cycle Cruise

Sezio, a good friend of theHIVE, Set & Drift, and Turista Libre will gather this weekend to cycle and soar through the city streets stopping to check out the urban art installations that adorn Tijuego (Tijuana + San Diego). Hop on your bikes and come join the crew. You’ve got two awe-inspiring routes to choose from. Option 1: TJ Ride // Saturday, July 31st // 1:00 pm, meet at the gates on the South side of the pedestrian border crossing in Colonia Federal // After-party at Pop Diner starting at 4 pm. Option 2: SD Ride // Sunday, August 1 // 11:00 am // Meet at Urban Outfitters, Hillcrest by the Obey mural // The ride will finish at MCASD Downtown at 2 pm // After-party at Super El Camino in Little Italy at 4 pm. What better way to spend your Saturday and Sundays, cruising through a cultural art explosion?


Ignite 2 at theHIVE

Ablaze, with stimuli Hivers will unite to Ignite (round 2), re-light and keep this body of bees buzzing and burning.  NewGrass, one of the sponsors of Ignite, is merging nature with city, mind with body. 16 mind-dazzling talks are scheduled, with an infinite range in subject. Seriously. We’re talking, arts, waffles (yumm), programming, chairs, nudity, consciousness, the apocalypse (yes, it is coming) and even some improv/karaoke! So, grab your weapon of choice — a picnic blanket, pillows, a lawn chair, sunglasses, sunscreen, maybe we will even see some @fatboys lounging about — and come hang in the sun, August 3rd, 7:30 m, at Hive241, on 14th street.

Jeans 4 Justice in Motion

Tomorrow, here at theHIVE, Jeans 4 Justice will collaborate, brainstorm and educate for their upcoming Season of Justice in Motion. Justice in Motion offers a program to prepare your body, mind, and soul for a half-marathon. All proceeds benefit sexual assault prevention and education.
